Question: Vaginal tears (cuts) after being on antibiotics and receiving a yeast infection?

Hello! Now before you say anything I DO NOT HAVE HERPES. Like good lord, all the answers I'm seeing are unnecessarily freaking me (and others) out mass. Here is my sad sad long story. About two weeks ago, I got a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Which is normal for me, I've had the my whole life. I am sexually active and yes I am on birth control and yes we use condoms. I am sexually active but have been for over 8 months with the SAME person and neither of us have has sex with anyone else and I have never come across this problem. Basically, I took an antibiotic for my UTI and it got rid of it, but it left me a lovely present of a yeast infection. Unfortunately I have gotten those as well (I am a delicate flower) and I finally got rid of it today. But when I did get my yeast infection, my skin around my vaginal opening, the area between the opening and my anus, and the inside folds of my vagina became a little bit tighter and I suppose thinner. This caused them to get tears that are much like paper cuts that sting when wet just like a cut would. Now I know this could be from a number of things (the antibiotics from my UTI, Yeast medicine, I'm now ON MY PERIOD TOO!) but I would really appreciate your opinions. Before you ask, NO I have NOT had sex with my boyfriend in many weeks, as soon as I thought I had my UTI we stopped. I just want to get better!!!! Haha thanks for reading my long rant, I really hope you can help me out before I go insane here. I just want my vagina all better.

The cuts are most likely from the irritation from the yeast infection. They have nothing to do with a UTI. Now, accepting UTI's as "normal " is not okay. There is no reason for anyone to endure regular UTI's. You need to see a urologist to be sure there is nothing anatomical or medical that makes you prone to UTI's. Then you need to practice immaculate anal hygiene. Every single time you poop, you need to clean yourself thoroughly with an adult (charmin, cottonelle or even store brand) wipe. You need to never wipe from back to front. If you cannot wipe front to back, wipe your butt totally separately from your vaginal area AFTER you have finished wiping the vaginal area. You need to either shower or thoroughly wash your butt and your vaginal area after you have finished exercising. You need to pee immediately before and after every time you have sex. Your partner needs to scrub his hands immaculately before touching you. He must never insert his fingers or penis into your anus and then into your vagina. If he is giving you oral sex, he needs to have brushed his teeth and mouth well before that. You should also start taking cranberry supplement pills as they have been found to inhibit bacteria from growing in the urinary tract. Also, ask the urologist or your GYN for a prescription for antibiotics that you will take every time you have sex (one time dose) to help protect against a UTI.
